12 O'Clock Bar

Noel dropped out on Saturday with the sub-frame from his stunt-bike. The previous owner had cut the 12 O'clock bar off the bike because the corners were catching when he was doing circles.

Circles aren't really an issue for Noel at this point and he feels the 12 O'clock bar will be useful. So we welded it back on...

The last time the bike was in the workshop - No 12 O'clock bar.

Before doing anything else, we chamfered the corners of the 12 O'Clock bar to reduce the chances or the bar catching during circles. The porous welds were re-enforced after the 12 O'clock bar was joined to the sub-frame.

The edges of the sub-frame were also chamfered to allow for better weld penetration.

The two pieces clamped together for tack welding.

The finished item. Rough as a bear's arse, but plenty strong.
