A Good Day...

Today I went to Wicklow on the Buell to get some aluminium welding done on the CBR1000F's top-yoke (triple-tree). It was interesting for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it was the first time I've used the Buell for as long as I can remember, probably more than 8 months.

And secondly, today was the first day this winter that it's been really cold (Up to about 3 or 4 days ago it's been very mild in Dublin).

It was a beautiful and sunny, and Wicklow is known as the garden of Ireland because of it's beauty, so it was a pretty good day.

Driving the Buell is quite a different experience to driving the CBR1000F. The Buell is tiny, but with quite a high seat so you sit up on top of it, rather than in it like Big Honda. This, in conjunction with its short wheelbase make it very quick to steer. Also, because the seat is so high and the bike is so tiny, there's no wind protection. This is fine if you stay in town, but on the motorway it gets tiresome and on a day like today, it's pretty cold!

I dropped in on Evan to have a look at his GPZ project. He's chopped the unusual twin exiting Harris exhaust so it stays tucked in under the motor. It looks great.

A Good Day...
Shortened Harris 4:2 exhaust.

A Good Day...

Evan is a reprobate...

On the way back I had to pick up some stuff in Cotters and in Murray Motorsports.

I saw this lovely old Honda CB900F outside Cotters and had a chat with its owner.

A Good Day...
Honda CB 900 F

A Good Day...
It's in very good, original condition apart from the Laser exhaust system.
