Saint Patrick

As you're probably aware, today is St. Patrick's day. 

I don't have any very strong feelings about this. On the one hand, I think it's nice that the whole world gets behind it. On the other hand, I find it a bit embarrassing that it has come to caricature The Irish as a nation of lovable alcoholic leprechauns!

Anyway, here's a picture from Irish artist, Jim Fitzpatrick of Saint Patrick banishing the serpents from Ireland. I've admired Jim Fitzpatrick's work since I was a kid and he's had a large influence on my own drawing style.

The Soviet and I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of months back - he's an interesting character.
